Beautiful Birthday Girls
I had 3 *FIRST BIRTHDAY* sessions in September!!! These three BEAUTIFUL girls wore me out!!! :o) They definitely gave me a run for my money!!!
{P} Family
We waited ALL summer for the weather to get out of triple digits before we headed out to Nelson. So much for that plan as this was the first weekend in September & it was still 103°, gotta love So. Nevada!!! I had a blast with this family & the girls got to enjoy some very large rainbow swirl lollies at the end of the session for being such good sports for Ms. Heather. :o)
Delicious Autumn!!!
I'm gonna ::BLOG:: out of order right now...cuz I can't post up *Pumpkin Patch* photos in February! ;-)
Took my kiddos to the pumpkin patch. We had a GREAT time!!!!!! My baby girl just turned 11!!!! {aaahhhhh} She actually posed for me & smiled!!!! {she hates the camera}and well *Sweet T* could care less about the pumpkins...he just wanted to play with the toys & a STICK. :o) It was so nice to take some photos of my own. :o)
{G} Family Reunited
So, a couple of days after the {G} Family was reunited we went out to Floyd Lamb to bust out some LONG overdue family photos!!! :o)
{R} and {M} were too CUTE! They were like 2 teenagers on their first date!!!
(((nervous...excited...bashful...awkward)))
{M} had been deployed for 3 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! With a few visits here & there. CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZY!!!!!! They sure do have some catching up to do! ;-)
But, by the end of the session they were definitely warming up to each other!!!! I had a great time with you guys!!!! THANK YOU for a wonderfully fun session!!!!!

Welcome Home
This past August I got to photograph Matt's *HOMECOMING*!
I was so very happy & excited for the {G} family to be together again!!!
I think we all need to stop what we are doing more often & remember the men & women that
SERVE & PROTECT our country & all of us every single day!!!
Chut-tol
In the past, due to a lack of medical information, Korea's seasonal temperature differences, and many childhood related diseases, the death rate for children was extremely high. Many children died before their first birthday. After the age of one year, the survival rate steeply increased, making this milestone a very happy one for the child's parents.
In modern times, due to the improvements in medicine, the influence of Western culture, and modern industrialization, the Shamanistic reasons for the Tol celebration have been reduced. However, the event is still celebrated as a time of congratulations for the parents and family.
In the modern Tol, taking picture is an important part of the event. As many Korean homes are very small, many families rent a room in a banquet hall. The modern celebration includes the child's parents greeting guests, lighting candles on a birthday cake, the Toljabee event, and a toast.
•Traditional Tol Celebration
The traditional celebration has four major components:
1) Praying and giving thanks
2) Making and wearing the birthday clothes
3) Preparing the table and performing the Toljabee
4) Sharing the food with guests and neighbors
I was VERY honored that the {L} Family asked me to photograph such a special & monumental event!!!

We went out to Floyd Lamb in JULY!!!!!! I don't know what the heck we were thinking!!!!! It was soooooooo HOT & HUMID!!! NOT super awesome weather for a prego mama!!! We should have headed up to Mt. Charleston instead. Oh well...we managed to get some pretty darn good pics anyways. I'm so happy that I could help document their little family of 3 before it turns into 4. ;-)

Another 1st Birthday......
I can hardly believe I set out on this journey of starting up my own business a year ago!!! It has gone by so fast!!! I just want to THANK all of my friends and clients {clients who have become friends} for your vast support, none of this would possible without all of you and your wonderful referrals. I also want to THANK my awesome husband for being so supportive of me taking on this endeavor. It hasn't been easy with school, a new baby, and me being at the computer so much {editing} :o). On that note, I just wanted to let you know that I have raised my price to $160.00 per session. Because as you all know my "work" doesn't end when we part our ways at the end of your session.
Here is a little break down of my time:
• Booking time: 30 minutes
• Pre-session prep time: 30 minutes {equipment checks/props}
• Travel time: 30 minutes/ 1 hour TO session + fuel costs
• 10-15 minutes prep time at location
• 60-90 minutes photographing subject
• Travel time: 30 minutes/ 1 hour FROM session + fuel costs
• 30 minutes uploading images from camera to computer
• 30 minutes backing up images
• 10-14 hours processing time to present you with a diverse gallery of creatively
edited high resolution images
• Any additional phone time or time needed for ordering of prints/products
This is time dedicated to ONE session. So when your photographer charges you $150.00-$300.00 for your session you are not just paying for the 1-2 hours of photography time, you are paying for the 13-19 hours complete time for your session.
Then there are the costs of maintaining a custom photography business:
• Equipment costs
• Taxes
• Vehicular costs
• Marketing
What's in store over the next year for FOREVER DAWN PHOTOGRAPHY?
I will be finishing up my last year of studies. So that I can have a piece of paper that states that I am a "PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER." Although the learning never ends, I learn something new every time I go to a session :o)
I will be working on getting my REAL website up & running and figuring out what kind of packages I am going to offer.
Since you can't have a post without a photo, here are a few of my *Sweet T*. :o)

Such a BEAUTIFUL family!!! Mama {J} and Daddy {K} had just gotten married and wanted to do a session to celebrate this VERY special chapter in their lives! They are so happy & what a LUCKY guy daddy is to have 2 BEAUTIFUL ladies sooooooo very much in LOVE with him!!!!!!! Congratulations {K} Family!!! I can't wait to work with you all again in the future!!! :o)
